Heyswood Swimming Pool Conditions of use
- Strictly no unauthorised access to the pool area which will be kept locked shut unless accompanied by a competent person.
- The pool size is 8 metres (26ft) x 16 metres (52ft)
- The pool depth ranges from 0.92 metres (3ft) depth gradually sloping to 2.15 metres (7ft) depth.
- A reach pole & grab bag are provided at the poolside.
- The gate to the pool will be kept closed except when being used for entry and exit.
- The cover from the pool must be completely removed & pushed back to the edge of the grass before any participant enters the water,
- A qualified lifeguard must be present for the pool to be used and all instructions given by the lifeguard must be followed.
- Participants should be suitably dressed in swim wear / wetsuits with no loose jewellery. Long hair should be tied back.
- Kayak Sitters are available for use on the pool if permitted by the lifeguard.
- The group is responsible for its own First Aid requirements.
- Adequate supervision of anyone in the area who is not taking part in the activity must be provided – this should be kept to a minimum.
- When a session is complete all equipment must be returned neatly to where it belongs ready for the next session.
- Any damaged or missing equipment must be immediately reported to the warden / HMC. If the water is not clear enough to see an object about A4 size at the deep end of the pool, swimming must not take place.
- Girlguiding accepts no responsibility for damage or injury resulting from use of the pool unless proven negligent.
Emergency procedures
In the event of an emergency the pool must be cleared. The signal for this will be three blasts on a whistle. In the event of a fire participants should assemble at the Muster Point (near site 7).
